How I work
- Partner with PM, engineers and Claude, asking questions to frame the right problem to address and understanding constraints.
- Explore different solutions and use AI to turn vague ideas into testable prototypes.
- Talk with customers, run quick tests to validate assumptions, and use what I learn to adjust direction.
- Polish the craft and speed up product improvements by working directly in the codebase with engineers.
- Stay involved through iterations, tracking metrics and taking ownership of outcomes, not just outputs.
What people say about me
- Always transparent and focused on finding better solutions through continuous feedback and research.
- Explores different approaches and considers problems at various scales to identify the most effective path.
- A great and easy collaborator—brings structure, clearly represents her work, and is open to feedback and new ideas.
- Takes full ownership of product design for Infogram, often identifying areas for improvement and stepping up in the absence of a PM, even in challenging and sometimes frustrating situations.
- She has started creating prototypes and concepts—this is a good direction to continue, focusing on a more strategic and architectural approach to Infogram that can guide future design decisions and be clearly communicated to the team.
- Ensures that each IN aligns with a broader design strategy, maintaining component and pattern consistency while laying a solid foundation for future scaling.
A lot of things :) I have heard only and ONLY good feedback from all of my developers about her work - understanding the problem, market research, well-thought-through design with attention to detail, and so on. Not even to mention that she slices the data in the mitzu dashboards to understand our users, their behavior, and the problem. So, whatever she did, either that is her own initiative or growth plan has created Erika on steroids :) Raimonds (Infogram founder) said that she is the best designer (we are not talking about visionary designers) he has ever seen. A lot of compliments, and kudos in this writing but I truly believe that represents the reality, what I think about her, her work, and what the team thinks.
For me, it seems that she is on a great development/growth path, and she should simply continue doing what she is doing. I can’t list any improvements for her.
Erika is an amazing person to work with. She consistently provides multiple designs for features we develop and usually when designs are discussed later she is always prepared with the explanations and research that resulted in the decisions so that’s easy to iterate. Erika is also great for checking some technical solutions what could be done so that designs are never out-of-touch with technical limitations.
It hard to say, one of the small improvement, although she already does that, is to try design things more iteratively. And sometimes it would be amazing to use new designs and new approaches for all our app, but would be the huge effort from many people. Sometimes we need to make decisions that will not be ideal, but somewhere in the middle of current state and perfect.
